Changing our brand name

We’ve always been part of the worldwide AEGON Group, and in 2006 we emphasised that connection when we became known as AEGON Scottish Equitable International.

Now, as customers become more familiar with the AEGON brand, we want to strengthen the link to our global identity and shorten our brand name to AEGON. This change will take effect on 14 December 2009.

Why are we changing?

We understand people want to invest in a company they recognise. This year, AEGON UK entered into a five-year sponsorship deal with British Tennis, which is helping to make the AEGON name better known in the UK and Ireland. As a result, we’re confident that now is the right time to continue our move towards one global AEGON brand.

Change in company name to AEGON Ireland plc

The company’s name is also changing, from AEGON Scottish Equitable International plc to AEGON Ireland plc, to reflect the broader range of activities in Europe that our Dublin-based business is now involved in.

Changes to look out for

We’ll continue to offer the same products and services – you don’t have to do anything. However, you’ll notice the following changes:

• Literature – From 14 December onwards, all our literature will be branded AEGON.
• Fund names – our fund names will also be changing. For example:
  
  Scottish Equitable International Newton Balanced Managed Fund
  Will now become
  AEGON international Newton Balanced Managed Fund

• Website – you’ll also see these changes reflected in our website and our new website address will be www.aegon.ie
  If you forget and go to the old website address, you will automatically be redirected to the new address.
